Why do I need to upgrade to use Team Management?

Why does the Roster need Pro? · Pro feature

  1. Open the Roster at /team.
  2. If you are on the Free plan, a full-screen 'Pro Feature' card appears instead of your squads. It lists what Pro unlocks: unlimited teams and players, performance tracking, radar charts and progress graphs, smart insights, and evaluation history.
  3. Choose 'View Pro Plans' to go to pricing, or 'Go Back' to leave.
  4. If you are signed in on Pro, on a free trial, or have a coach account with Pro granted by Tactico, the card does not appear and you go straight to your squads.

Tips

  • If you are not signed in at all, you see a 'Sign In Required' card first — sign in, then the Pro check happens.

How do I create a new team or squad?

Create a team · Pro feature

  1. Open the Roster at /team.
  2. In the left 'My Squads' panel, select the plus button next to the title (or, if you have no teams yet, select 'Create Your First Team' in the middle of the screen).
  3. In the 'Create Team' window, type a Team Name — this is required.
  4. Optionally add a Season (for example '2024-25') and any Notes about the team.
  5. Select 'Save Team'. The new team appears in the left panel and opens automatically.
  6. On a phone, the squads panel is a slide-in menu — open it with the burger icon at the top of the roster view, then use the same plus button.

Tips

  • Sport is fixed to Soccer for now — the field is hidden in the form.

How do I add a new player to my team?

Add a player to your roster · Pro feature

  1. Open a team, then select 'Add Player' near the top right.
  2. Enter the player's Name (required) and jersey Number.
  3. Optionally select 'Choose Photo' to upload a headshot — JPG, PNG or GIF, up to 5MB.
  4. Pick a Position, Date of Birth, and Age Group.
  5. Add the player's or parent's contact details, and any Notes.
  6. To rate the player right away, turn on 'Set initial ratings' under Baseline Evaluation. This shows a number box (1-10) for each of the 26 skills — you can leave any of them blank if you did not observe that skill yet.
  7. Select 'Save Player'. The player appears in the roster table.

Tips

  • There is no bulk import — players are added one at a time, or pulled in with 'Add Existing Player' if they already exist on another of your teams.

How do I rate a player's skills?

Run a skill evaluation (the 26 skills) · Pro feature

  1. Open a player's profile.
  2. Select 'Quick Evaluation' or 'Full Evaluation' — both open the same rating screen.
  3. Set the Date and the Type (Training Session, Match, or Periodic Review).
  4. Move the sliders for the skills you actually observed today, across four groups: Technical (8 skills), Tactical (6), Physical (6), and Mental (6) — 26 in total. Each slider runs 1 to 10.
  5. You do not have to touch every slider. Untouched ones keep the player's current rating for that skill (or default to 5 the first time they are evaluated) and are saved along with the ones you changed.
  6. Add any Notes about what you saw.
  7. Select 'Save Evaluation'. Their overall rating, radar chart, and trend update immediately.

Tips

  • A skill rated below 5 can flag the player under 'Need Attention' on the team dashboard.

The roster looks different on my phone — how do I navigate it?

  1. On a phone, your squads list is hidden behind a burger icon at the top of the roster view — tap it to slide the list in from the left, then tap a team or the back arrow to close it.
  2. The three analysis cards (Upcoming Events, Attendance Rate, Need Attention) collapse into a compact row pinned under the top bar — tap any of them to see the full details in a popup.
