10 answers for this part of Tactico. Everything here lives on /calendar.
Why can't I open the Calendar?
Who can use the Calendar · Pro feature
- Go to /calendar.
- If you are signed out, you see a 'Sign In Required' screen with a Sign in with Google button.
- If you are signed in on the Free plan, you see a 'Pro Feature' screen listing Calendar features (scheduling, attendance, notifications, statistics) with a 'View Pro Plans' button.
- If you are on Pro or an active trial, the calendar loads with your teams' events.
How do I add an event to my calendar?
Add a training, match, meeting or other event · Pro feature
- On /calendar, click 'New Event' in the left sidebar (or tap the 'New Event' button at the top on a phone), or click directly on a day in the grid to start with that date filled in.
- Pick an Event Type: Training, Match, Meeting or Other.
- Enter a Title, and confirm the Date and Start Time (both required).
- Optionally pick a Team, and for a Match a saved Tactic to show on the call sheet, plus how the roster should appear on it.
- Set an End Time or a Duration in minutes (filling one calculates the other), and optionally a Location — start typing and pick a suggested address.
- Add any Notes, then click 'Save Event'.
- The event now appears on the day you chose, color-coded by type, and clicking it opens its details in the right-hand panel.
Tips
- The call sheet checklist (Formation, Attendance column, Equipment checklist, Match notes, Writing space) appears for every event type, but a call sheet can only actually be generated for Match events.
Can I schedule a training session that repeats every week?
Schedule a repeating weekly training · Pro feature
- When creating a brand-new event (recurrence isn't offered when editing an existing one), set 'Repeats' to Weekly.
- The weekday matching your chosen Date is ticked for you automatically — tick more weekdays if training happens on several days.
- Pick a 'Repeat until' end date.
- A hint line tells you exactly how many sessions this will create and the date of the last one.
- Click 'Save Event' — every date in the schedule is created together in one step, up to 60 sessions per schedule.
- If the range would create more than 60 sessions, shorten the end date and try again.
Tips
- Editing one date later only changes that date — a note in the edit form reminds you the rest of the series is left alone.
How do I edit or delete a calendar event?
Edit or delete an event · Pro feature
- Click an event on the calendar grid or in the week view to open its details in the right-hand panel.
- Click 'Edit Event' to reopen the form with everything filled in, make your changes, and click 'Save Event'.
- Click 'Delete Event' to remove it. Confirm in the dialog that appears.
- If the event is part of a repeating schedule, the dialog lets you choose 'Just this one' or 'This and all later dates in the schedule' — dates already past are never touched.
How do I cancel a training session without deleting it?
Mark a session as cancelled · Pro feature
- Open the event (create it, or click 'Edit Event' on an existing one).
- Check the 'Cancelled' box near the bottom of the form and click 'Save Event'.
- The event stays on the calendar but its panel now shows a 'Cancelled — not counted towards attendance' banner.
- 'Take Attendance' is disabled for a cancelled session, and its attendance totals are left out of the summary.
- Any attendance already recorded before you cancelled it is kept, just not counted.
How do I record the score of a match?
Add an opponent and record a match result · Pro feature
- Create or edit a Match event.
- Enter the Opponent name and choose Home or Away.
- The score fields only appear once the match's date has arrived — you can't enter a result for a fixture that hasn't happened yet.
- On or after match day, enter both scores under 'Final Score' and click 'Save Event'.
- The result shows in the event panel (e.g. '3 - 1 (H)') and next to the event title on the calendar grid.
How do I mark who showed up to training?
Take attendance for a session · Pro feature
- Click an event that has a Team assigned to open its panel.
- Click 'Take Attendance'.
- For each player, click Present, Absent, Late or Excused — click the same status again to clear it.
- Use 'Mark All Present' to set everyone at once, then adjust the few who weren't there.
- Click 'Save Attendance'.
- The panel now shows a Present/Absent/Late/Excused count for that session.
Tips
- Attendance can't be taken for an event with no team, or for one marked Cancelled.
How do I create a printable call sheet for match day?
Generate a match-day call sheet · Pro feature
- Open a Match event's panel.
- Click 'Call Sheet'. The button shows 'Building…' while the PDF is generated, which takes a few seconds.
- The PDF downloads automatically once it's ready, including whichever sections you kept checked when creating the event: Formation, Attendance column, Equipment checklist, Match notes, and Writing space.
- If no Team is linked to the event, you're warned the roster section will be blank.
- Call Sheet is only for Match events — trying it on a Training, Meeting or Other event tells you so instead.
Tips
- If you see 'Too many call sheets just now', wait a minute and try again — this is rate-limited to protect the server.
Can I add a Tactico event to my Google Calendar?
Add an event to your personal Google Calendar · Pro feature
- Open an event's panel and click 'Add to Calendar'.
- A new tab opens to Google Calendar's own 'add event' page, pre-filled with the title, date, time, location and notes.
- Review it and save it in Google Calendar as you normally would.
Tips
- This is a one-time copy, not a live sync — editing the event later in Tactico won't update the copy already sitting in Google Calendar. There is no .ics file download or automatic sync between the two calendars.
How do I switch between month and week view, or see one team's schedule only?
Switch views and filter by team · Pro feature
- Use the Month / Week buttons at the top of the calendar to switch views.
- Use the arrows next to the calendar title, or 'Today', to move between months or jump back to today.
- Use the mini calendar in the sidebar to jump straight to a date — days with events are marked.
- Use the 'Team Filter' dropdown in the sidebar to show only one team's events, or 'All Teams'.
- The Legend in the sidebar shows the color used for Training, Match, Meeting and Other events.
Tips
- On a phone, tap 'Options' to open the sidebar (mini calendar, team filter, legend) and 'New Event' to jump straight to the create form. Tap the close button or outside the sidebar to dismiss it.
