9 answers for this part of Tactico. Everything here lives on /drills.
How do I add players, cones, and other equipment to a new drill?
Add players and equipment to a drill · Pro feature
- Open /drills and tap the Animate tab, the middle of the three tabs.
- In the Players section of the right panel, press and drag an Attacker, Defender, Neutral, or Goalkeeper chip onto the field.
- In the Equipment section, drag a ball, cone, ladder, pole, goal, hurdle, mannequin, or flag onto the field the same way.
- The Chip Size and Equipment Size sliders in the panel resize every player and every piece of equipment on the field at once, the ones already placed and the ones you drag out next.
How do I change a chip's number, color, or size?
Edit a player or piece of equipment · Pro feature
- On the Animate tab, double-tap or double-click a player chip or equipment piece already on the field.
- A small editor opens next to it.
- For a player: pick a color, type a jersey number, an optional position label such as GK or ST, and drag the Size slider.
- For equipment: drag the Size slider, pick a color for cones or markers, and use the rotation slider or presets to angle it.
- Each change shows on the field as you make it. Tap Done to close the editor, or Remove to delete that chip straight away, with no confirmation.
How do I delete a chip from the field?
Remove a player or piece of equipment · Pro feature
- Make sure the Select & Move tool, the arrow icon, is active in the left toolbar (it is the default).
- Press and drag the chip you want to remove toward the Delete zone, which appears in the bottom-left corner of the field (top right on a phone) while you drag.
- Drop it on the Delete zone. It disappears from the field.
- You can also double-tap the chip to open its editor, then tap Remove there instead. Remove deletes the chip straight away.
How do I draw a passing arrow or run on a drill?
Draw arrows, lines, and shapes on a drill · Pro feature
- On the Animate tab, pick a drawing tool from the left toolbar: Arrow, Line, Curved Arrow, or Eraser.
- Pick a color from the five swatches next to the tools: white, yellow, green, orange, or cyan.
- Press on the field where the line should start, drag to where it should end, then release.
- The Eraser removes whatever you tap: a line, and also any player or piece of equipment close to that spot. Select it, then tap with care.
- Switch back to the Select & Move tool, the first icon, to move chips again.
How do I switch the drill field between landscape, portrait, and half pitch?
Change the field orientation · Pro feature
- On the Animate tab's right panel, find Field Orientation.
- Tap Landscape, Portrait, or Half Pitch.
- Everything already placed, players, equipment, drawings, and every saved keyframe, automatically repositions to fit the new layout so nothing ends up off the field.
How do I make a drill move over time?
Animate a drill with keyframes · Pro feature
- Set up your players, equipment, and drawings for the starting position on the field.
- Click + Keyframe, or the Keyframe+ button on the timeline, to capture that moment.
- Move the players or equipment to their next position, then click + Keyframe again to capture it.
- Repeat for as many steps as your drill needs.
- Press the play button on the timeline to preview the animation. It plays through your keyframes in order.
- Use the skip-to-start, previous-keyframe, next-keyframe, and skip-to-end buttons to jump around the timeline.
- Change the speed with the 0.5x / 1x / 2x dropdown. Loop is ticked by default and replays the animation again and again; untick it to play once.
Tips
- If you move something on the field without adding a new keyframe, that change is not part of the saved animation. Tactico warns you before saving if this happens.
How do I save a drill I built in the Animate tab?
Save your drill · Pro feature
- Type a name for your drill in the Drill name box.
- Pick a type from the dropdown: Passing, Shooting, Attacking, Defensive, Possession, or Warm Up.
- Make sure you have at least one player, piece of equipment, drawing, or keyframe on the field.
- Click Save Drill.
- A status message appears under the buttons confirming the save, and the drill shows up under My Saved Drills in the panel. It shows in the Browse tab, under My Drills, as soon as you open it.
Tips
- Saving again under the same name updates that same drill. Changing the name before saving creates a separate new drill instead of overwriting the old one.
How do I clear the Animate tab and start a new drill?
Start over or clear the board · Pro feature
- Click New Drill to wipe the field, the timeline, the drill name, and the drill type back to blank. You will be asked to confirm if anything is on the field.
- Click Clear instead to wipe only the field and the timeline. It always asks you to confirm, and it keeps the drill name and type boxes.
- Either way, the next Save makes a new drill. Drills you already saved are untouched and stay listed under My Saved Drills.
How do I save the current frame of my drill as a picture?
Export your drill as a PNG image · Pro feature
- On the Animate tab, arrange the field the way you want the picture to look.
- Click PNG in the action bar at the bottom of the right panel.
- Your browser downloads a PNG image of exactly what is on the canvas right now.
Tips
- PNG export saves only the frame you are currently viewing, not the whole animation.
