I got a live session link from my head coach — how do I join and edit?

Join a live session as an assistant coach

  1. Open the link your head coach sent (it looks like tactico.pro/app?collab=...&role=editor).
  2. If you're not signed in, a sign-in window appears — sign in or create a free account, and you're taken straight back into the session.
  3. Tactico loads the head coach's board automatically; a brief 'Joining…' screen shows while it does.
  4. A top bar confirms you're in a live session, and a 'People in session' panel lists everyone currently in.
  5. You start view-only — chips and drawing tools are dimmed until the head coach grants you control. Once they do, a blue 'Control' badge appears next to your name and the board becomes editable.
  6. Your microphone turns on automatically when you join; tap the mic pill at the top to mute or unmute yourself.
  7. Click 'Leave' in the top bar to exit.

Tips

  • Each editor link is tied to the session — if the head coach removes you, ask for a fresh link since the old one may have been switched off.

How does a player or parent watch a live session without an account?

Join a live session as a viewer · Pro feature

  1. Open the viewer link the coach sent (tactico.pro/app?collab=...&role=viewer).
  2. A 'Join the live session' box asks for a display name, e.g. 'Sarah #7' or 'Mom of Jake' — no account or password needed.
  3. Type a name and click 'Join session →'.
  4. The board loads read-only — you can watch chips move and drawings appear live, but can't touch anything.
  5. A top bar shows 'Watching live session' and a head-count of who else is in.
  6. To speak, tap 'Raise hand'. The coach sees your name and can approve you to talk for 60 seconds.
  7. Tap 'Leave' in the top bar to exit at any time.

Tips

  • Viewer links only work when the host is on the Pro plan — Free hosts can't invite viewers at all.

How do I turn my microphone on or off during a live session?

Talk during a live session

  1. As the host or an assistant coach, your microphone turns on automatically the moment you join a live session.
  2. Look at the top bar (or the People-panel footer) for a pill button reading 'Mute' or 'Tap to talk'.
  3. Click it to toggle your mic — it turns red and reads 'Tap to talk' while you're muted.
  4. The first time you unmute, your browser asks for microphone permission — allow it, or voice never works on that device.
  5. Small circles above the mic button show everyone currently connected; whoever is talking gets a glowing ring around their initials.

Tips

  • On Free (Meeting mode) every assistant coach can talk freely — there's no viewer voice at all since Free has no viewers.
  • On Pro's Broadcast mode, only you and assistant coaches talk by default; viewers must raise a hand first.

How do I approve a viewer to talk during a live session?

Let a viewer talk (raise hand) · Pro feature

  1. When a viewer taps 'Raise hand', a pulsing yellow request appears above the voice panel, and a hand badge shows next to their name in the People panel.
  2. Click the green checkmark on their request (or in the People panel row) to let them talk.
  3. They can speak for 60 seconds; their button switches to a mic toggle on their screen.
  4. After 60 seconds their mic is muted and permission is revoked automatically — they'd need to raise their hand again to talk more.
  5. To dismiss a request without approving it, click the ✕ instead.

Tips

  • Broadcast voice mode is what makes raise-hand relevant — Meeting mode has no viewers, so nobody raises a hand there.
